Insurance Billing
Medicare
To better serve you, Dr. Knox is a participating
Medicare physician. Our office accepts assignment
of the Medicare Part B for all services. "Accepting
assignment" means
that the physicians will accept the approved charge
that is determined by the Medicare carrier as full
charge for the service covered under Medicare Part
B. Medicare pays 80% of this approved charge. Medicare
patients will be responsible for the following:
(1) the 20% not paid by Medicare
(2) any charges not covered by Medicare Part B
(3) their Medicare Part B deductible
We will process your insurance claims
for Medicare, and Medicare will send the check directly
to us. You will receive a bill from our office for
any remaining balance.
Health Insurance
Our office is a participating provider
for Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, PCN, USABLE, and
First Source. (Other insurance is accepted as well.
Please call our office if your insurance is not listed.)
Also, our office is a member of Arkansas Orthopaedic
Network and Baxter PHO.
We accept the amount these insurance
companies pay minus the deductible and co-insurance
for our services. As a courtesy to our patients, we
process your insurance claims from the companies listed
above, and they send the check directly to us. Patients
are expected to pay their co-insurance and deductible
at the time of service.
If you have health insurance with PCN
or any company that needs a referral form, you are
required to bring the form with you at your initial
visit. We do file for all inpatient services performed
at the hospital.
Patients Without Health Insurance
Payment for office visits and X-rays
is expected at the time of service. If you are a surgery
patient, you may meet with the Regional Orthopaedic
Health Care business manager to arrange a payment plan.
Motor Vehicle Accidents
Payment for office visits and X-rays
is expected at the time of service. This applies to
all patients even if a third party or attorney is involved.
Worker's Compensation
If we receive verification of a claim
from the employer or worker's compensation insurance
company, we will file the claim and not collect any
money from you. Otherwise, you will be expected to
pay at the time of service.
Credit Card Payments
In order to provide an alternative payment
method, we accept MasterCard and Visa for payment of
medical services.
Anesthesiology
For questions regarding your anesthesiology
bill, please contact the address on your anesthesiology
statement.
Appointments
We make every effort to see each patient
at the scheduled appointment time. In arranging appointments,
we provide ample time for the doctor to perform examinations
and address questions or concerns that you may have.
We are committed to providing you with the quality
care and attention you need.
Unforeseen emergencies will occur, however,
that require our immediate attention. Therefore, appointment
times may be delayed. We strive to provide the best
possible quality care for all our patients, including
those in an emergency situation.
Appointment Scheduling
Appointments with Dr. Knox at Regional
Orthopaedic Health Care (Mountain Home) may be scheduled
by calling our office at 870-424-3400 or 1-800-621-3218
(in Arkansas and Missouri). Appointments may be scheduled
by the patient, or patients may be referred by another
physician. We request that patients please give our
clinic 24 hours of notice if an appointment cancellation
is necessary.
Referrals
Some insurance companies require you
to have a referral from your primary care physician
in order to see a specialist. It is your responsibility
to have this sent to us before your appointment.
